Twenty Golden Eaglets Hit Camp As Training Resumes Friday

No fewer than 20 players of Nigeria’s cadet team, Golden Eagles have arrived in Abuja to continue with their camping programme.

The five times world champions resumed from the short Presidential and federal legislative election break for the concluding part of their camping ahead of their CAF U17 African Nations Cup in Algeria.

The 20 players who came in their numbers to camp, chilled at Parkland Hotel, Zone 1, Abuja after the stress of travel.

Quotting the Media Person to the Eaglets, Francis Achi: “20 players are presently back in camp, as the team awaits the arrival of a few who had cut short their journey to Abuja, owing to distance, and other situational contingencies on our highways.

” The players in camp are conditioning themselves to used to the weather in Abuja.

“On Friday, the Eaglets will start with a light training session with other invited players who must have arrived.”

Nigeria are in group B with Morocco, South Africa and Zambia. The WAFU B champions will commence its campaign against Zambia on 30th April and face Morocco in the second group match on 3rd May before the last game against South Africa on 6th May 2023. All three matches will hold at the Mohammed Hamlaoui Stadium, Constantine, Algeria.

The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru as the CAF representatives.
