Captain Ibrahim Diarra’s 83rd minute winning goal was enough as his team beat hard-fighting Morocco 1-0 to enter the semi-finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, at the Manahan Stadium in Indonesia on Saturday.
The skipper of the West African side registered his third goal of the competition as Mali reached the World Cup U-17 semi-final for the 3rd time in history.
Mali will square up against France in the semi-final, who had defeated Uzbekistan 1-0 in normal time while Germany battle Argentina in the other semi-final game.
