U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles Thrash Moroccan Club As Team Depart For Egypt

The Flying Eagles rounded up their preparations for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations with a 6-1 thumping of Moroccan club, Kawkab Athletic at the Complexe Sportif, Sidi Mohammed, Ain Sebaa, Casablanca.

Kawkab Athletic were a late replacement for Central African Republic, who pulled out of a friendly with the Flying Eagles on Tuesday night.

The Flying Eagles took the lead in the first minute through Mohammed Aminu.

Ibrahim Mohammed doubled the advantage in the 17th minute, while midfielder Samson Lawal increased the margin 10 minutes later.

Kawkab Athletic reduced the deficit nine minutes before the break.

Emmanuel Uchegbu, Augustine Njoku and Jonathan Nicholas scored the other goals for the Flying Eagles.

The seven-time African champions will depart for Cairo, Egypt on Thursday (today).

Ladan Bosso’s side will face Senegal in their opening fixture on Sunday then trade tackles with the host, Egypt on Tuesday while their group A last game comes up against Mozambique on 25th February.
