Ahead of the 2023 U17 African Cup of Nations, participating countries continue their readiness for the biennial competition.

The group opponent of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, junior Atlas Lions of Morocco intensified their preparation with a grade A friendly last weekend.

The Said Chiba led team defeated the highly-rated Senegal U17 team 3-2 in a warm-up game.

The beating of Senegal came as a surprise for many football lovers as Senegal is considered to be one of the strongest teams going into the tournament.

Morocco will slug it out with Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets in the opening group game in April before facing Zambia and South Africa later in the group.

The four semi-finalists in Algeria will represent Africa at the FIFA U17 World Cup that will be hosted in Peru later in the year.
