U17 AFCON: Senegal Roll Over South Africa, Zoom Into The Semi-Final

It was double joy for the Junior Teranga Lions of Senegal after picking the FIFA U17 World Cup ticket and also securing their spot in the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations in Algeria.

After hanging on for 30 minutes, the Amajimbos of South Africa succumbed to the firepower of the Senegalese and conceded 3 goals in 10 minutes.

Two South African defenders William Rennecke and Wallis scored two own goals in 2 minutes ( 36′ and 38′) to give Senegal a comfortable lead.

Ibrahima Sadio sealed the game with the 3rd goal before Omar Sall added 2 goals to make it 5-0 and ensured that Senegal progressed in the competition.

They await the winners between Nigeria and Burkina Faso in the semi-final.
