It was a big blow for the group opponent of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, the Junior Pharaoh of Egypt as one of the players has been ruled out of the competition.
Egypt who are tournament host has been engaging in a series of warm-up games to be in shape for the competition.
They were involved in a friendly game against the Hippos of Uganda on Monday and it ended in a 1-1 draw.
But the game brought bad news for the team as midfielder Salah El-Din Pasha sustained a hamstring injury in the game and has been ruled out of the tournament.
The player himself confirmed the injury and also he will be on hand to support the team.
“Unfortunately I’m not gonna make it to the African Cup due to a hamstring injury but I will be there to support my country. I will be back stronger”, he said.
