Nigeria’s Flying Eagles secured their spot in the last 8 of the ongoing U20 African Cup of Nations in style by beating Manbinhas of Mozambique 2-0.
The Nigerian side seemed to have picked themselves up after losing the opening game to the Young Teranga Lions of Senegal by a lone goal.
They roared back into the competition by beating the host Junior Pharaoh 1-0 to put their campaign back on track.
They took on Mozambique in the final group A game on Saturday and goals from Samson Lawal and Ibrahim Mohammed ensured a comfortable 2-0 for Nigeria.
The result ensured that Nigeria qualified for the quarter-final of the competition by finishing second behind Senegal who thrashed Egypt
