Argentina coach Javier Mascherano has made it clear that the opening goal was a big blow for them and unsettled the team.
Two second-half goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Haliru Sarki ensured that Nigeria’s Flying Eagles secured a 2-0 win over the host.
The former Liverpool and Barcelona player said they dominated the game and played better but the Africans made them chase the game.
“At the beginning, it was difficult for us but, as the minutes went by, against an opponent who made chases, we were clear dominators and the second half was practically our entire game.
Their first goal came from a long kick that we let go of the ball, in football, things can happen because this is a game of errors.
That goal upsets everything. It is an emotional blow for the boys”, he stated.
