CF Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze will tonight aim at breaking a nine-year record as the first Nigeria to feature in a back-to-back UEFA club final should his side scale through Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League semifinal clash.

Having won last year’s UEFA Europa League final, the 24 year old winger whose side suffered a 2-0 defeat in the first leg clash against Liverpool, will target revenge to become the first Nigerian to emulate ex Chelsea and Nigerian star, John Obi Mikel who achieved similar feat with Chelsea during the 2012 UEFA Champions League and the 2013 UEFA Europa League campaign.

While plotting Liverpool’s defeat, Chukwueze last season inspired the Yellow Submarine to her first UEFA Europa League victory against Manchester United while Mikel, in 2012, helped Chelsea to a Champion League final to beat Bayern Munich and a 2013 UEFA Europa League final against Benfica.

Informed Chukwueze this season has been instrumental to Villarreal’s form scoring an equaliser that knocked out tournament defending champion, Bayern Munich.

Topping his league goal with a bang in Villarreal’s 2-1 lost at the weekend, he has showed class in the domestic league by inspiring the Unai Emery’s side to seventh on the log.
