Kamaru Usman, The ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ has vowed to his fans that he will return to the octagon with vengeance as he congratulated Leon Edwards after his loss
Usman lost his Welterweight belt after he was knocked out by Leon Edwards in the fifth round of their rematch held in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States on Sunday.
After the fight, Usman said on his Twitter handle: “Damn I love this sport!!! Things happen but… Alhamdulillah we move!! Congratulations @Leon_edwardsmma.”
“Champs f…up sometimes but will bounce back and come with vengeance.”
The ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ who suffered the first takedown of his UFC career in the early round was dominating the encounter up till two minutes to the end of the bout.
A left hand feint from his challenger which was followed by a vicious head kick, sent the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ to sleep.
The loss comes as a big upset considering Usman was on the verge of equalling UFC Great Brazilian Anderson Silva record of longest 16 winning streaks.
