Following their narrow defeat to the European champions England, the captain of the Bayana Bayana of South Africa, Thembi Kgatlana, has sent a warning signal to Nigeria and other countries.

The African champions lost 5-0 to Denmark on Saturday but recovered on time before facing England.

They lost 2-1 to England with Kgatlana scoring their only goal.

” This is a performance that we are going to take into the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations. There are many things to fix, but it’s good that we were able to score against the No. 2 team in the World”.

“It’s not easy, and our second-half performance was strong”, she said. South Africa won their maiden WAFCON title in Morocco in 2022.
