As preparations intensify for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), one of Nigeria’s Group B opponents, Tunisia, suffered a 3-1 defeat in a friendly match on Friday evening.
The Tunisian women’s national team faced Morocco in a North African derby held in Rabat.
Morocco took the lead in the 39th minute through Yasmin Mrabet.
Tunisia responded to level the score, but the Atlas Lionesses regained control as Ibtisam Jraidi restored the lead before Chenois sealed the victory with a third goal.
Tunisia will line up in Group B at the upcoming WAFCON tournament alongside Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Algeria, and Botswana.
