Contrary to report being circulated that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sacked Super Eagles manager, the federation’s Assistant Director, Media, Ademola Olajire has denied knowledge of the development.
Olajire said that it’s only after a board meeting of the NFF and a signed statement released that Rohr’s sack could be authenticated.
“I’m not aware of Rohr’s sack because there are procedure for doing things at the federation. Before such decision could be taken, there will be a meeting of the NFF board and a release issued to the public. As for now, I’m not aware of the sack. The online platform you claimed reported the story cannot announce his sack without confirmation from the NFF,” Olajire said.
Similarly, the Super Eagles media officer, Femi Raji said he’s unaware of the development. “I don’t know about Rohr’s sack,” he simply responded when asked to confirm the report.
It would be recalled that an online platform has reported what it called exclusive, the sack of Rohr as the Super Eagles coach, in reaction to clamour by Nigerians that the Franco-German should be relieved of his coaching duty in wake of the lacklustre performance of the national team in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers, especially in the last group game against Cape Verde in Lagos.
According to the platform, one of the numerous sponsors of the NFF was willing to bankroll the expenses the federation might incur in a bid to sack the coach who still has a subsisting contract with the NFF.
