The President of the Federation of Royal Morocco Football Fouzi Lekja has once emphasized that the 2025 African Cup of Nations will go on as planned.
There has been a hot debate about the biennial competition as it will clash with the maiden FIFA Club World Cup, which will have 32 clubs.
The World Soccer governing has announced that the Club World Cup will run from June 15 – July 13, 2025.
There has been speculation about the postponement of AFCON but Lekja has insisted that the competition will not be shifted to 2026.
He further spoke about the competition on Thursday evening in Rabat capital of Morocco and confirmed that both competitions will not clash.
” FIFA decided that the Club World Cup will go from June 15 to July 13. And I already told you that the Africa Cup in our country will NOT be held at the same time as that tournament”, he said.
