Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Tijani Yusuf has urged other five geo-political zones across Nigeria to emulate Western Nigeria Football Federation (WNFF).
The WNFF on Sunday rounded off a week-long grassroots football development programme with Awards Night in Osogbo, Osun State Capital.
Commending the efforts of the organisers, he said, “I want to commend the brains behind this initiative (WNFF) for organising a competition to discover talents at the grassroots.
And want to urge other regions to emulate WNFF. This is in line with what FIFA refers to as grassroots development. Sepp Blatter emphasised the need for Football to go together with education. The players in the competition i understand are still in school.
“They also recognised and gave Awards to legends and adminstrators who had contributed immensely to development of the game. I am honoured to be part of the awardees.” He concluded
