The world soccer ruling body has continued to work hard to bring innovations and inventions to the Mundial ahead of the 2026 edition.
The last five editions of the World Cup had 32 teams and FIFA is working assiduously to increase the number of participating teams.
The next edition of the competition will have 3 hosts Canada, Mexico and the United States of America and 48 teams will take part for the first time.
According to an update, FIFA will announce a new format for the World Cup in their congress that is coming up in Kigali, Rwanda on the 13th of March, 2023.
Africa will have 9 teams this time around and also 1 slot from the playoff.
