Nigeria’s Super Eagles saw their World Cup hopes take a hit after failing to secure a crucial victory against Zimbabwe.

Needing a win to stay on track for qualification, the Super Eagles could only manage a 1-1 draw in Uyo.

After a goalless first half, striker Victor Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 74th minute.

However, he was soon forced off due to injury and replaced by Victor Boniface.

Zimbabwe seized momentum after Osimhen’s exit and found a dramatic equalizer in the 90th minute, silencing the home crowd.

Despite late efforts from the Nigerian side, they were unable to reclaim the lead, leaving their qualification hopes hanging in the balance.
