Sunshine Stars of Akure are the latest to coast into the semi finals of the ongoing NPFL La Liga U15 tournament holding at the Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne Ogun State after Plateau United’s qualification.
The hero of the day was Precious Olaniyo who profited from a quick counterattack by the team in the first half to shoot down Shooting Stars with the only goal of the game.
The Southwest rivals from Akure and Ibadan engaged in a keenly contested affair with both sides playing safe for most part of the game, relying on countering each other’s tactics.
Shooting Stars had the opportunity to break the deadlock earlier in the game, but saw their attempt hit the woodwork to save 3SC’s blushes.
Recall that Sunshine Stars qualified from the group stage with six points ahead of El Kanemi on four points, leaving out Rangers on one point and Gombe on nil at the exit.
