The chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, has called on Women’s Football stakeholders, supporters, sponsors, players, media and officials of the Nigeria Women Football League three tiers leagues, to ignore the negative comments credited during the week to former Chairman of Adamawa Queens Football Club, Emmanuel Zira, on the Nigeria Women Football League.

Falode, in a swift reaction to the negative comments made by Zira, a former Chairman, Women’s Club Owners, is that the former Adamawa Queens Chairman, who was sacked by the Adamawa state governor for poor administration of the state-owned club, simply lacked information on the  progressional developmental made by the board of the Nigeria Women’s Football League over the years.

“Zira, who was a member of the last board of the Women’s Football League under Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyedinma, from all indications couldn’t not fathom how the current board of the NWFL could have made so much progress in such a short period of time after we took over.”

“Since we resumed, we have been ensuring uninterrupted payment of Referees Indemities which summarily ended the incessant walk-over of teams even in their home grounds, which characterised the board Emman Zira served in.

“The new NWFL don’t just pay Referees indemnities, we instituted monthly referees awards which is sponsored by the NFF 1st Vice president, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi. You will also notice that majority of the referees we use in the NWFL Premier League are FIFA Women’s referees appointed by the NFF Referees Appointment Committee.
