A member of South Sudan’s Transitional National legislature has reportedly died on Saturday morning in the capital Juba.
The lawmakers and senior government officials made this known.
According to a senior member of parliament, Hon. Veronica Louis Renzi, who was representing one of the constituencies in Western Equatoria State on the ticket of the ruling SPLM faction under President Kiir in the R-TNLA died the capital Juba on 29 October.
“Yes, the news is true I have also heard from family members about Hon. Veronica’s demise. It is a sudden death and I heard that she was sick for a very short time and she passed away,” the lawmaker who requested not to be named said.
In a statement, the minister of parliamentary affairs Mary Nawai Martin issued a condolence to family, parliament, Azande Kingdom and the County and said the late lawmaker’s death was a great lost to the country.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, I convey my message of condolences to the family of the RTNLA headed by Rt.Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba for the sudden death of Hon. Veronica Tambura Renzi,” Nawai said.
“Her death in Juba earlier today is a great loss to the family, the AZANDE KINGDOM GROUP and the people of South Sudan,” she added.
