Sovereignty Council meets French President Macron

The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of their attendance at the funeral ceremony of the late Chadian President Idriss Deby at the Chadian capital N’djamena.

Al-Burhan and Macron stressed the need for joint coordination to enhance security and stability in the region .

The two sides also discussed the situation in Chad and the assistance that Sudan could provide to stabilize the new situation in the Republic of Chad after the departure of President Idriss Deby.

The meeting also touched upon the ongoing arrangements and preparations for the convening of the Paris Conference to support Sudan economically, which is scheduled to be held on the seventeenth of next May in the French capital Paris.

However, President of the Sovereignty Council confirmed that he had received an invitation to attend the conference.
