Tanzania Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on Wednesday launched two National Assembly history books.

It was gathered that the books are expected to boost research on the contribution of the Parliament in the development of the country.

He said that the books would be an example of the successes and challenges that the Parliament of Tanzania has gone through in maintaining democracy and the rule of law.

Kasssim made this known during the launching event at Pius Msekwa Hall in the city.

He said: “Our history is part of our contribution to the international community in promoting peace, stability and development.

“History of Parliament can stimulate academic research and development of political and management theories. Researchers can use reports from the books to build new understanding and propose new political system,”

The launched books are about the National Assembly history from 1929-2024 and Members of Parliament and their positions from 1965- 2023.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Tulia Ackson commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for approving expansion plans of the National Assembly, which include acquiring surrounding land areas.
