Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has provided a fitness update on his squad, ahead of the club’s upcoming meeting with Brighton.

Everton vs Brighton

Ancelotti’s men are set to return to action on Saturday afternoon, in a Premier League meeting with the Seagulls.

Everton will head into proceedings as England’s in-form side, on the back of a stellar opening to the campaign.

The Toffees have racked up 6 wins from 6 across all competition’s to this point, leaving them sitting pretty alongside Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Leicester City atop the Premier League table.

Tomorrow’s hosts also booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the League Cup during the week, courtesy of a 4-1 drubbing of West Ham.

Brighton, on the other hand, have endured a largely hit-and-miss start to the season.

Whilst Graham Potter’s men have impressed with their brand of slick, creative football, the seaside outfit have picked up just 3 points from their opening 3 Premier League fixtures.

Allan ruled out

As such, Everton will no doubt fancy their chances of keeping the club’s winning streak alive and well tomorrow afternoon.

And, ahead of his side’s meeting with the Seagulls, Carlo Ancelotti held his pre-match press conference earlier today.

The main focus surrounded the Toffees’ squad, amid concerns over the fitness of a host of the club’s stars.

Both Allan and Richarlison picked up injury problems during Everton’s win over West Ham on Wednesday, with the pair having immediately been labelled as doubts to feature this weekend as a result.

And, as confirmed by Ancelotti, the former, along with fellow midfielder Andre Gomes, and Jonjoe Kenny, is indeed set to miss out.

Richarlison, on the other hand, faces a late fitness test:

When pressed further on the issues facing his squad, Ancelotti continued:

‘Allan, after the international break he will be ready. Jonjoe is out for four weeks at least. The twist on his ankle is quite serious. Gomes, I think he will be ready [soon]. If we played Sunday or Monday he would be fine. It is a little thing.’
