Tottenham not giving up on Milan Skriniar / Foyth set to sign for Villarreal

Not giving up

It appeared any hope for Spurs and Jose Mourinho of landing their number one defensive Milan Skriniar were over.

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio was adamant that the Slovakian would not be leaving.

“Skriniar and Ranocchia will stay with us,” the director remarked.

However, according to reports emerging from Italy, Tottenham are not giving up hope and will push ahead for a deal in the coming days.

Having lost Jan Vertonghen, Spurs are yet to invest in a centre-halve. Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez have deputised well.

Skriniar would still usurp all options currently at the Portuguese’s disposal and significantly improve the north London club’s back line.

Go Foyth and prosper

With the news that Spurs could become even further stocked in the centre-half area, Juan Foyth is expectantly looking to get more game time.

Unai Emery’s Villarreal are the destination for the Argentine who wants to continue consideration for the national team.

Villarreal’s options at the back will cause Foyth some challenge to surpass. Veteran Raul Albiol and young star Pau Torres have started all four of the Yellow Submarine’s matches so far this season.

Foyth will hope that he can replace the 35-year-old Albiol and push for a long-term partnership with Torres.
