Tottenham’s contract talks with Son may be slowed by South Korean changing representatives

An update on Heung-min Son’s contract situation has been forthcoming online over the last 24 hours.

Son impressing

Heung-min Son has enjoyed a sensational start to the 2020/21 campaign.

After just seven league outings, Son has already managed to notch a staggering eight goals and two assists.

This makes the forward the joint-top scorer in the Premier League, with his form a key factor in Spurs currently boasting the best attack in the English top-flight.

Son’s link-up play with Harry Kane has been a particular highlight, with the pair now the second-best duo in Premier League history when it comes to combined goal contributions:

Son has also netted one and assisted one in three brief Europa League group stage cameos this term.

Such impressive showings have, understandably, seemingly made Spurs keen to tie down the forward to a fresh contract.

The South Korean has just under three years left on his current Spurs contract.

Despite this, though, it was claimed recently that Tottenham owner Joe Lewis has sanctioned a ‘Harry Kane-style mega contract’ offer to the Son.

This proposal would reportedly see Son earn £200,000-per-week along with performance-related bonuses, with the north Londoners said to be expecting the deal to be tied up by the end of 2020.

However, fresh reports emerging over the weekend suggest said deal may now take a little while longer.

As per the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur’s progress in attempting to secure Heung-min Son to a new long-term contract could be slowed by the South Korean’s switch in representation.

Son is believed to have employed Creative Artists Agency and Base, who are said to have strong links with the Lilywhites.
