A fresh transfer update concerning Norwich’s Emi Buendia has come to light this weekend.

Arsenal linked with Buendia

Recent weeks have seen Arsenal heavily linked with a swoop for Norwich’s Buendia.

The winger/midfielder was one of the Canaries’ brighter sparks amid an altogether disappointing 2019//20 season, which saw them once again relegated to the Championship.

On the back of their demotion, though, Buendia has continued to impress, notching seven goals and seven assists in 19 league outings.

As a result, it is easy to see why Arsenal, a side devoid of creativity, may be interested in the 24-year-old.

It was even claimed recently that the Gunners were willing to offer Reiss Nelson as part of a deal for Buendia.

The Argentine himself, meanwhile, has confirmed that he would be open to returning to the Premier League, either through promotion or via a transfer.

Valencia in for Buendia?

However, concerningly for Arsenal, another side from one of Europe’s top-five leagues are now also said to be expressing an interest in the Norwich City standout.

The club in question, as per Goal citing Spanish outlet La Razon, are Valencia.

It is also suggested that, though the Gunners have been touted as the most likely next destination for Buendia, Norwich won’t sanction a prized asset’s departure for less than £40m.

Whilst, in today’s market, Buendia is likely worth close to that sum, can Arsenal actually afford to pay it?

The club recently took out a £120m loan from the Bank of England, suggesting they’re not exactly flush with cash as things stand:
