Vardy & Tielemans rested
The festive period typically means that plenty of sides reluctantly need to change their elevens to deal with the heavy congestion of fixtures. Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that this would be the case for his Foxes side who earned a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
Goals from Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy were enough to cancel out Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes’ strikes, to keep Leicester in the hunt for a top 4 place this season. In their two tough fixtures against Spurs and United they managed to pick up four out of six points leaving them currently third in the table and above United.
What could be described as an easier match against Crystal Palace lies on the horizon and the Northern Irish coach confirmed that he would use the game in order to rotate some of his key players to avoid risking any serious injury.
When asked specifically about Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans, Rodgers replied that he would not be risking the pair.
“Yes. I’m not prepared to put a level of risk in that means they’re going to miss six weeks to two months with an injury. We’ll make changes – the number, we’ll have to wait and see,” said Rodgers.

Soyuncu to return
Positive news for Leicester fans and Rodgers will be the return of Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu. The Turkey international has missed the entirety of the current campaign after suffering a serious injury and looks to be on his way to returning to the field.
Brendan Rodgers has faced many defensive issues with several of his first team squad including Ricardo Pereira and Timothy Castagne both missing significant parts of the season too.
However Rogers has now confirmed the Soyuncu will be returning to the squad very soon.
“Cags [Soyuncu] will be back in the squad, or should be, which is great. We’ll clarify that tomorrow. Ricardo [Pereira] won’t be. But all the others should be available to travel,” he said.
