At least one person has been reportedly killed and two others have been wounded after gunmen suspected to have come from neighboring Ruweng Administrative Area (RAA) attacked a cattle camp belonging to Rubkona herders at Payangay.
Koang Bol, the press secretary for Rubkona County Commissioner explained that the attack took place during the early hours of Friday resulting in the killing of at least one person and the wounding of two others.
“A group of unknown gunmen we suspect to have come from Ruweng administrative area attacked one cattle camp and exchanged fire with the [Rubkona] herders where two people [were] injured and one [other] died,” he said.
The official further said the government of the oil-rich Rubkona County is calling on the government of Ruweng Administrative Area (RAA) to bring to book those behind the attack in order to preserve peace between the two people.
