Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets on Wednesday suffered a surprise defeat in their second group game against the Junior Atlas Lions of Morocco.

Still basking in the euphoria of their opening group win over Zambia, the Nigerian side failed to live up to expectations despite impressing throughout the entire game.

The North African scored very early in the game through an own goal from Nigeria defender Tochukwu Ogboji.

Despite conceding very early the 5-time World champions still dominated the first stanza of the game but looks wasteful in front of goal.

The second half resumed with Nigeria still dominating the game but Morocco looked resolute in their defending and frustrated all the efforts of the Golden Eaglets.

The victory means Morocco has progressed into the quarter-final of the competition, and Golden Eaglets will hope to get a favourable result in their last group match against South Africa.
