2023 U17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets Arrive Algiers For Quarterfinal Clash With Burkina Faso

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have arrived in Algiers ahead of their Thursday quarter-final clash with Burkina Faso at the ongoing CAF U17 African Nations Cup.

The five-time World champions played all their group matches in Constantine but will now move to Algiers for the important quarter-final tie with Burkina Faso. Nigeria finished second with six points from three games in group B and face group C runners-up, Burkina Faso who garnered three points from two group games . South Sudan the fourth team in group C were disqualified from the competition after five of their players failed the compulsory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test, leaving only Cameroon, Burkina Faso and group winners Mali who had 6 points having beating Cameroon and Burkina Faso.

Nigeria will on Thursday fight for the semi-final and world cup ticket against Burkina Faso at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Algiers. All semi-finalists will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup.
