Black Sherif, the reigning artiste of the year, has responded to netizens comparing him to Ghana’s highly acclaimed rapper, Sarkodie.

During a discussion on UTV Showbiz, Black Sherif expressed his dissatisfaction with such comparisons, deeming them unfair and meaningless.

He stated, “Whether or not my verse was on Sarkodie’s album, it would still have made waves. Sarkodie is a brand of his own and has been in the industry for over a decade. Therefore, the shallow-minded comparison holds no significance.”

Black Sherif emphasized that his contribution to the “Jams” album does not alter the album’s impact. He acknowledged Sarkodie’s stature as a prominent artist who has established himself over time, while he himself is relatively new to the industry. Thus, he found the comparison to be senseless.

At the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), the Konongo star achieved an impressive feat by winning four awards, including the highly coveted Artiste of the Year. His victory came after fierce competition from notable artists such as Piesie Esther, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Sarkodie, Camidoh, KiDi, and King Promise.
