African soccer governing body has in strong terms denied the rumours circulating in certain sections of the media that former President Issa Hayatou is dead.
The death rumour of the former African football supremo broke out on Friday but CAF has come out to debunk the rumour
” As of Friday, March 1, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. GMT, the news of the death of former CAF and FIFA President Issa Hayatou is FALSE.
A few minutes ago, I spoke to one of President Hayatou’s adopted sons who is himself surprised by the news and who confirmed to me that Hayatou IS NOT DEAD,” Cameroon journo Njie Enow stated.
Since he departed from the pan-African body, he has notably occupied the seat of the president of the board of directors of the Cameroon National Football Academy (Anafoot) and a member of the local organizing committee of the CAN 2021 organized in Cameroon.
