Nigeria’s Flying Eagles lived up to the billing in the final of the 2024 WAFU B U20 by lifting the trophy again.
The Nigerian side arrived at the competition as the defending champions, having lifted the last edition, but suffered defeat in the opening game to Burkina Faso by a lone goal.
They picked up in the tournament right from the second game with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast before beating Niger 3-1 in the semi-final.
They faced their arch-rival, the Black Satellites of Ghana, in the final and secured a 2-1 win. Beyond Limit attacker, Kparobo Arierhi scored both goals for Nigeria to ensure that the trophy stayed in the country.
