Road Accident In Mali Claim Lives of 22, Dozens Injured

A road accident which took place at about 9 am local time (09:00 GMT) on a national highway linking the town of Kangaba, near the border with Guinea, to Bancoumana further north, in the West African country yesterday have claimed the lives of at least 22 people with about 21 more injured in southern Mali.

This was as a result of a collision between a minibus and a dump truck.

As revealed by the Transport Ministry in a statement, “the reasons behind the accident are excessive speed and non-respect of road rules.”

The injured were taken to a hospital in the capital, Bamako.
