Recently retired media personality, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi has went on social media to lament how unreasonable brands charge celebrities at a higher rate for goods and services just because they are popular.
Gbemi disclosed this while sharing experience she had with a clothing brand as she was charged higher than the usual.
Gbemi noted that she had messaged the brand to ask about the price of a dress and was told it was N45,000 while her friend also messsged the same brand inquiring for the price of the same outfit and she was told it costs N40,000.
She remarked that despite the distinction is N5,000, she can not comprehend why she was given the higher price which looked unfair to her.
She tweeted, “I dm’ed a bespoke brand yesterday asking about the price of a dress on their page. They said it’s 45k. I had a friend dm them as well about the same dress & they told her it’s 40k.
Yes I know it’s only 5k difference but why give me a higher price ? It’s unfair.”
