Timi Dakolo, 23 others selected for AFCON project, ‘Sing for Africa’

Nigeria’s music sensations, Timi Dakolo and Iheanacho ‘Acho’ Onuoha, been selected to join 22 music stars across Africa for a music project, ‘Sing for Africa’ ahead of the 2022 African Football Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Dakolo and Acho join Grammy nominee and Cameroonian international producer, Salatiel for the project, which according to the organisers, to communicate to Africa and the world, a message of hope.

The idea of ‘Sing for Africa,’ it was further gathered, is to take advantage of the platform offered by the 2022 edition of the continental tournament under the African Football Confederation billed for Cameroon between January 9 and February 6 2022 to bring together under the humanitarian banner, the voices and the expertise of the African music. This will be done through the contribution of artists from the 24 countries that qualified for the tournament so as to communicate a message of hope, spread peace, unity, concord, love and solidarity across Africa and the world.

The names of the 24 music stars representing the countries are Tukkiman from Sénégal, Cremilda Medina from Cape Verde, Mylmo from Mali, Teddy Yo from Ethiopia, Imilo Lechanceux from Burkina Faso, Lord Ekomi from Gabon, Jaylann from Morocco, Timi Dakolo from Nigeria, Jah Prayzah from Zimbabwe, Dadiposlim from Comores, Hakim from Egypt, Samini from Ghana, Assia from Algeria, Emmerson Bockarie from Sierra Leone, Georges Kalukusha from Malawi, Peque Jazz from Equatorial Guinea, Wj de King from South Sudan, Rayen Youssef from Tunisia, Lesme Minteiro from Guinea, Bissaurinyu from Cameroon, Texvor from Ivory Coast, Fame Sane from Cameroon, Salatiel from Cameroon and Acho from Nigeria.

As gathered, the song is scheduled for release on Saturday, October 30, 2021 as the production location is Douala and Yaounde.

This exceptional blend of 24 different cultures is led by internationally renowned Cameroonian producer Salatiel, a multi- faceted artist, under the direction of the international artistic representation and communication agency ARUSA music and entertainment.
