Angola decides on Wednesday, President seeks re-election

The presidential election of Angola us scheduled to hold on Wednesday, August 24, as the incumbent president, João Lourenço, prepares to win the heavily contested polls.

The strongest opposition of the incumbent president is Dr Justin Pearce of UNITA.

Meanwhile, President, João Lourenço has urged Angolans to vote for MPLA, a ruling party that’s been at the helm since the fall of Portuguese rule in 1975.

He asserted that Angolans must vote for his party to honour the legacy of the late former President José Eduardo dos Santos.
