The Bethlehem Regional Court sentenced an accused nearPetrus Steyn to 13 years of direct imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend.
Seako Aaron Mosia, a 34-year-old accused, was found guilty of the murder of his girlfriend and sentenced to 13 years of direct imprisonment.
The accused murdered Mamakhowa Selina Mokonyane.
South African Police spokesperson Warrant Officer, Mmako Mophiring said on July 4, 2022, at about 8:45, the police were called to the Jagersfontein Farm, where they discovered the body of a woman on her bed.
Mophiring says the woman had injuries on her forehead, face, and upper body.
Mophiring revealed that the accused was found near the murder scene, where he tried to commit suicide.
According to Mophiring, the motive behind the murder is unknown.
