President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto were on Thursday hosted for a state dinner by Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and his spouse Isaura Nyusi.

This followed a two-day state visit to the country by President Ruto.

According to Ruto, the two countries share a spirit of mutual endeavour for a successful bilateral partnership for development.

“Kenya and Mozambique stand on a strong foundation of robust bilateral frameworks, firmly poised between a wonderful history of effective solidarity, impactful collaboration and successful partnership and a bright future of abundant possibilities and tremendous opportunities,” he said.

“We celebrate the spirit of mutual endeavour that has made these achievements possible and draw inspiration for the challenges ahead in a complex and dynamic world.”

The President left the country on Thursday, accompanied by Attorney General Justin Muturi, Defence CS Aden Duale and Foreign Affairs and Diaspora CS Alfred Mutua, among other senior state officials.

During the visit, seven Memoranda of Understanding on various areas of cooperation were signed.
