Police are investigating an incident in which a middle-aged woman was found murdered after a suspected rape in Kajiado town.
The incidents happened in Kiwanjani area, on Sunday, August 6 evening, police said.
The body of the woman was found lying in a thicket with a deep cut on her forehead, witnesses and police said.
Police who visited the scene said there was blood oozing from her mouth and she had injuries on her private parts.
It is suspected the woman was raped at the scene and later murdered. Police are handling rape, murder, and robbery with violence in relation to the incident.
The body was moved to Kajiado Referral Hospital morgue pending autopsy and identification.
The motive is yet to be known but a team of detectives set up to pursue the matter has vowed justice.
