The coaching crew of Flying Eagles are still expecting the arrival of AC Milan forward, Victor Eletu.

The highly-rated AC Milan U19 defensive midfielder is the only player on the final squad who did not fly out of Nigeria to Argentina.

In a chat with an official of the team who is in Argentina confirmed that Victor Eletu has not joined the team camping with 11 days to the first match group D match between Nigeria and Dominican Republic. He added that the door may be shut at him if he fails to arrive at this weekend.

“We are still expecting him (Victor Eletu). The coach told BSN Sports. Possibly he will join us before our friendly match against Colombia next Monday.”

He added, “if he fails to arrive this weekend, then, the door may be shut down on him.

Flying Eagles are in group D with Dominican Republic, Italy and Brazil.

Head coach of the two times World Cup finalists, Ladan Bosso before leaving Nigeria had said no player would be allowed to join the team in Argentina but Victor Eletu name was included in his 21-man list released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, BSN Sports on Monday had exclusively released the 21-man list 24 hours before the federation made it public. The 2015 African champions on Saturday night departed Nigeria for the host country and arrived in Argentina on Sunday.

Without Eletu, the coaching crew on Monday drilled the 20 players that left Nigeria on Saturday in their first training session since arriving the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.

The session which took place at the Howard Johnson Hotel and Resort lasted for 90 minutes and concentrated on recovery after long trip from Nigeria to South American nation through Turkey. As at Wednesday afternoon, after three training sessions ahead of the next Monday international friendly game against Colombia, Victor Eletu has not arrived in Argentina.
