Nigeria’s D’Tigers will today (Thursday) look forward to cement their next round qualification when they face Kenya in group C second game.

The former champions, Nigeria, who defeated Mali (81-73) in the first match will take on Kenya at 3pm (Nigeria time) in Kigali, Rwanda. Kenya on the other hand lost their group opener to leaders Cote D’Ivoire (88-70).

In today’s match, Nigeria are the favourites and would have to double their efforts to defeat the underdogs in the encounter. Like the defending champions, Tunisia and hosts, Mali who had recorded 100% performance in this competition winning their two group games, D’Tigers needed a win for top of the table fight between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire in the last group game.

D’Tigers Coach, Mike Brown, is optimistic ahead of the encounter saying that the team remain focused and that the players are in high spirits as they are out to cement their knockout stage ticket.

Meanwhile, Ivory Coast will face Mali in their second match after Nigeria game today.
