Despite crashing out of the competition, the head coach of the Shepolopolo of Zambia, Bruce Mwape is back in the news for the wrong reasons.

The coach is said to have sexually abuse his players by rubbing his hand through their chests 2 days before their final group game against Costa Rica.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that it had received an official complaint about the alleged incident after the last meeting of the African team last Monday.

” FIFA takes any allegation of misconduct very seriously and has a clear process for anyone in football who wants to report an incident.

We can confirm that a complaint regarding the Zambia women’s national team has been received and is currently being investigated.

We cannot provide further details about an ongoing investigation for obvious reasons of confidentiality,” a spokesman confirmed.

Zambian federation said in September 2022 that it had referred an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse in women’s football to FIFA.

Mwape and under-17 coach Kaluba Kangwa are believed to have been among the employees who were investigated.
