Edith Agoye has described Sunshine Stars impressive 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes as good for his team, while assuring fans of more quality displays in subsequent matches, reports.

Agoye said after the game: “I’m happy and satisfied with the performance of the players, they showed commitment, the result is a reflection of hard work and dedication.

“As regards the game, it’s evident we are improving.”

The Akure Stadium is still a fortress for the Owena Whales, who are yet to lose a game this season, and they made the most of the odds in their favour to convincingly pick the maximum 3 points of Matchday 7 within half an hour of the  first half.

It took Sunshine Stars 12 minutes to open scoring after Udom Ekerette rose highest to nod home from a free kick to make it 1-0.

The home team could have doubled their lead 10 minutes later but Samson Olasupo who replaced Ibrahim Yusuf in the 6th minutes, had his efforts sailed off target.

The second goal cushion eventually came in the 33rd minutes; with Olasupo slotting home following a superb team play at the edge of the box, with David Onovo providing the assist.

Sunshine Stars who have garnered 12 points from 7 matches will be guests to Dakkada FC in Uyo, in a mid-week tie of Matchday 8.
