Amusan, Brume Win Big In 60m Hurdles, Women’s Long Jump

Nigerian athletes, Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume won big at various events in Lievin France and Houston, United States.

Amusan clocked a time of 7.83s to win the women’s 60m Hurdles at the Meeting Lievin in France

She defeated Laeticia Bapte, who posted a Season’s Best (SB) of 7.97s and Sarah Lavin in 7.98s.

Also, Brume landed a Season’s Best (SB) of 6.84m to win the women’s Long Jump at the Howie Ryan Invitational in Houston, going 4th on the 2024 season top list.

She completely took apart the field, beating them by almost a metre with 2nd-placed Genesis Griffin recording 5.91m.

Nigeria now has two women leading the world in the women’s Long Jump, occupying number 1 and 4 on the global list.
