Despite the late preparation, Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles have achieved their set objective.
The team has been off the international scene for quite sometime but the present Nigeria Football Federation under Ibrahim Gusau brought them back.
Ahead of the 2024 Beach African Cup of Nations, the Sand Eagles were drawn against the Mauritania.
The encounter in Nouakchott was keenly contested and it was Nigeria who prevailed 5-4 in the first leg to be in advantaged position ahead of the second leg.
To secure its place in the Beach African Nation Cup competition that will be staged in Egypt, Nigeria need to win the second leg holding next Saturday in Kaduna State.
