Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has demonstrated his eagerness to wear the Super Eagles jersey in the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The skilful attacker made the statement while speaking to German news outlet DW, the statement sounds contrary to what his club director said about the competition.
Boniface is among the 4 players who will be out of the German club in January and February 2024 and represent their respective countries in Ivory Coast.
“It is the dream of every football player from Nigeria to represent their country and win a trophy for the country,” Boniface told DW.
“So, we’re looking forward to the next AFCON.”
With the season yet to reach halfway, Boniface has already hit a double-digit goal for the German side.
