Brazil has been selected to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, marking the first time the tournament will be held in South America.
The decision was made at the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, where Brazil won the majority of votes against a joint bid from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
This event is expected to significantly impact women’s football in Brazil and the region, promoting gender equality in sports.
With this development, the iconic Maracana will become the first stadium in the 21st century to stage the men’s & women’s World Cup Final (the third overall).
