CAF Invites Akwa United  For African Clubs Association

The President of Confederation of African Football CAF Dr Patrice Motsepe has invited Akwa United Football Club and some top club sides in the continent to a two-day in-person General Assembly meeting and launch of the African Clubs Association (ACA) in Cairo later this month.

CAF President in setting up the African Clubs Association emphasized the need for “ a commercially viable, profitable and globally competitive league that will increase communication engagement and cooperation between CAF, its member associations and African football clubs”.

In a follow-up correspondence, CAF General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba emphasized that the meeting will be held on November 29 and 30 at the prestigious Marriot Mena House, Cairo and the Chairman of Akwa United Elder Paul Bassey is to attend with his Vice and Secretary.

The CAF Scribe further explained that Chairmen and Presidents of the highest-ranked and most popular football clubs in Africa will be present to launch the ACA and elect its office bearers to “promote and advance interest and objectives of football clubs in Africa.
