The victory over the bottom placed team in group A takes the Aba Elephants to second on the log, four points behind league leaders Bendel Insurance who extended their unbeaten league run to 16 games after a 0-0 draw against Gombe United in the another group A game played in Gombe on Sunday.

Other results in group B saw Bayelsa United win a third straight home game for the first time this season with a 2-1 win over Sunshine Stars in Yenagoa which helped the Federation Cup defending champions overcome their cup exit last midweek.
